The Jeff Liker Led Book Club Webinar Series, aimed at developing lean leaders at all levels, starts October 23, 2014 and is now accepting registration online at https://leanleadership.webex.com. All webinars will be recorded, for later viewing, and available to members of Liker’s Online Community.
According to Liker, the webinars were designed to give participants the rare opportunity to meet with him, get an overview, and learn the thinking behind each chapter of his latest book, “Developing Lean Leaders at All Levels: A Practical Guide,” and ask burning questions.
Developing Lean Leaders at All Levels presents an extraordinary overview of the basic tools and principles of lean management.
Liker indicates that participants will also get a chance to delve deeper into the core concepts of lean leadership and how you personally can bring them into your life.
The format of each one-hour webinar will be a short overview of the book’s chapters. Dr. Liker, who will present Chapter 1 using a few figures from the chapter for illustration, and then open discussion about the ideas, will cover the following areas:
• Overview of Lean Leadership and Recommended Learning Approach
• What is Lean Leadership?
• History of The Toyota Way
• What is the Real Toyota Production System?
• Lean Processes as a System
• Developing Exceptional People through Problem Solving
• Lean is now redefined
The remaining webinars, occurring monthly, cover the other seven chapters of the book.
Considered by leadership experts and online learners as the most significant teachings in Lean Manufacturing all placed in one book. Developing Lean Leaders at All Levels takes a comprehensive approach on the principles behind the lean philosophy, and it explains why many companies that THINK they are implementing LEAN are not getting the results that they expected.
Practitioners of the “Toyota Way” methodology and the “Toyota Kata” methodology are experiencing great gains and breakthrough results, which is exactly what they expected. Liker believes the difference is in the implementation approach.
With Developing Lean Leaders at All Levels, according to Liker, the approach is to improve business processes by improving the people first. It is important to know that people improvement takes 10 times longer than process improvement. The difference is that this latest book by Jeffrey K. Liker focuses on the coaching process, and what it really takes to make it happen in the workplace.
He believes at the center of all of it is the scientific method that is applied to problem solving, and on the job development to reinforce this problem-solving approach. “If meticulously and conscientiously applied Liker’s techniques will ensure that you – as a learner – achieve your targets, and that your business achieves their business targets with a process that can easily be explained to everyone responsible for results,” added Liker, who assures the webinar series will do an excellent job explaining the big picture of Lean and how persons can connect it to their daily work.
