Cyber School Technology Solutions Caribbean (CSTSC) has unveiled its latest Digital Education Resources (EduTech) Platform; a cloud based teaching and learning solution aimed at Jamaica’s Schools, Teachers and Students.
According to CEO, Conrod Hanson, “our revolutionary digital learning solutions are now being overwhelmingly embraced as a promising new direction for education in Jamaica. Under this new initiative we are positioning our award winning 2D/3D Mathematics and Sciences Interactive Digital Education Solutions to a wider secondary level audience. In September we will make it available at the Primary and Preparatory levels. These solutions will be provided via our flagship web-portal http://www.learnja.com/” and can be accessed by personal computers or android tablets.
Mr. Hanson stated that “the most exciting enhancement will be our CyberFlex Platform (EduTech Pay as you Go Service) which works similar to toping-up a mobile phone to TALK.” The service will be accessible at over 3000 existing Electronic Phone Credit Merchant Outlets across Jamaica.
Outlining the several wide ranging benefits of the programme, Mr. Hanson said they included considerable reduction in teaching time, fingertip access to 100% subject specific syllabus based teaching, testing and evaluation materials on demand and year round 24 hour access to personal private Virtual Subject Teachers for lesson briefs and instructions with explanations.
The solution also serves as a valuable aid to parents and guardians enabling them to be more comfortable whilst providing learning support to their children as they no longer need to know all the answers or related subject content.
According to Mark Clarke, former Head of Science at the Mile Gully High School ”after incorporating CSTS digital sciences blended teaching solutions in my daily classroom routine for some 18 months , I got a 43 per cent Improvement in the CXC CSEC results which followed .” He also added that the programme has also helped him to deliver richer content, while helping to encourage students to take responsibility for their learning. Schools currently using the solutions are Campion College, Quality Academics and Holy Trinity in Kingston; Mile Gully in Manchester, , Hampton and Balaclava in St Elizabeth; Glengoffe and Guys Hill in St Catherine; Seaforth in St Thomas; Albert Town in Trelawny; Papine in St Andrew; Anchovy in St James and Marcus Garvey in St Ann.
The programme is facilitated through partnerships with Ministry of Education Jamaica (EduTech MOU), Jamaica National Building Society, Digicel Jamaica, Smart Phone Shop and others.
