Creative Media & Events, creators of WEALTH Magazine and Spa Week, present another Corporate Mingle – one of corporate Jamaica’s premier networking opportunity – Friday, February 26, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. at the Fiction Lounge, Constant Spring Road, Kingston 8.
This staging of the event highlight guest speaker, President of the Jamaica Manufacturing Association (JMA), Omar Azan, who will present an in-depth look at the state of the Jamaican economy and how to improve it.
Mr. Azan is recognized as one of the captains of Corporate Jamaica who speaks very frankly on matters impacting the local economy.
In December of last year Mr. Azan raised eye-brows when in a local newspaper (Jamaica Observer) article, he noted Jamaica’s involvement with CARICOM has done more harm than good to the country. According to Mr. Azan, the current Government needs to re-evaluate its membership with the regional umbrella group.
In the same article, Mr. Azan was quoted as saying, “Sometimes we make decisions based on the possibilities, but what are the realities?”
He also added that, “In 2008, Jamaica’s trade deficit with Caricom stood at minus US$1.6 billion, need I say more.”
Other equally thought provoking presentations will also be made by executives from the First Global Bank & First Global Financial Services, one the event sponors.
As one of the premier networking events in Corporate Jamaica, Corporate Mingle is an ideal setting for you can have cocktails with some of the island’s top business personalities, journalists, entertainment insiders. At each staging, a leader in his/her field speaks for 15 minutes, giving you the ‘must-knows’ of making it to the top of your field.
Some previous speakers at Corporate Mingle have been Dennis Chung (Financial Analyst) , Ian Lyn (President of the Used Car Dealers Association), and Stephen Spence (President of the Young entrepreneur association of Jamaica).
The occasion also offers the opportunity for members of the audience to give a 5 minute presentation about their own companies.
