Have you heard about Haiti?

Shemiele Da’Briel January 13 at 12:04pm

What does this mean to you?

How can you help?

We’re doing a fundraiser here in Seattle to raise money & awareness about the various ways people can help >> it will take many years for our brothers & sisters in Haiti to recuperate from this devastation!!

What are you going to do about this?!

Whyte-Hall Delroy January 13 at 4:18pm

I am helping already by getting the word out how people can help… check news blog, The EXPOSURE… at https://whytehallcommunications.wordpress.com. Just send me information about what you guys are doing there so I can get it out for you.

While you create a plan for helping Haiti, here’s something you can do in the meantime:

Donations of food, clothing, medical items, bedding, tarps, cash can be dropped off at the Stella Maris Pastoral Centre, 62 Shortwood Road. Contact Racquel Rhino-Gowdie at 382-7165 or Ingrid Green 385-2290. Cheques payable to Stella Maris/Haiti.

Every little helps.

That’s a good idea. At school I’m trying to organize a clothes and food drive, also fundraisers to help the people. We see it very fit to help our Caribbean neighbors. I’ll keep you posted..

Haiti is facing a irreversible catastrophe!

Good Evening To You ALL,

Our neighbouring country Haiti is facing a irreversible catastrophe pounced upon them by mother nature. It is our duty as members of CARICOM to move towards helping where we can. Our hearts are aching for they have lost thousands of lives and more uncounted for. We are working assiduously to gather as much necessity to assist them. Below is information as to how you can lend assistance. Any type of aid is appreciated.

At current many victims are still trapped in rubbles, hungry and in need of drinking water, food, toiletries and healthcare…

I was informed that the Prime Minister leaves for Haiti tomorrow at mid-day but they will however be accepting after that time to make another trip……

The drop off point is:

10 A West Kings House Rd (Kingston)

If you need further information please send an email to: haitiaidja@gmail.com or contact Debbie at 891-8934

Please keep them all in your prayers.

Severe earthquake in Haiti

Dear Friends and Colleagues.  As all of you know, there has been a severe earthquake in Haiti, a country I have recently returned from.  I spent three weeks working in a neighborhood community called the Grand Rue as part of the Ghetto Biennale.  I feel like this community is family and I am anxiously awaiting news of my Haitian friends and colleagues.  Leah Gordon Curator of GB is preparing to take aid to the community we were working in.  A fund has been developed to help the community.  Here is the link.  Do what you can, and please pass it onto other people you think would be able to help.

Thank you,

Ebony G. Patterson
