Music in general is often being described as the ‘food of love’, but when it comes to the religious hungry, It’s A Beautiful Day, the new praise and worship CD dishes out by author, philanthropist and recording artiste, Rev. Clenord Ferguson, it’s a virtual musical banquet.
“It’s funny, but if you had told me a few years ago that the Lord would have had me writing songs and making a worship CD, I would have probably laughed you to scorn,” said Rev. Ferguson, who has a difficult upbringing as a single-parent child living the ghetto areas of Kingston 11.
It’s A Beautiful Day is a 15-track album, and according to Rev. Ferguson who now resides in Florida, USA, the songs were all written through “direct inspiration from God’s Word and from my own life experiences.” Listening to the songs on the album gets the feeling that it’s more than a collection of worshiping songs that slices through cross-cultural barriers, and a multiple musical genres.
The album begins with a punchy and exciting call to worship on I’ve Been Waiting All This Time, which sets the pulse of the passionate worship journey throughout the rest of the CD. But whether it is the churchy Gospel track “He’s Already Prayed For Me,” the rousing 70’s title track “It’s A Beautiful Day,” the electrifying Latin flavored “No God Like You,” the unifying ballad theme of the “The Family Song,” or the heart pounding reggae beats of “Make Me Right,” and “God Is In Control” featuring Stellar award winner Papa San – this musical CD will undoubtedly reminds listeners of the healing assurances of God’s forgiveness and the hope embedded in God’s word.
Rev. Ferguson believes It’s A Beautiful Day, which is now available in local music stores and at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/revclenord, “represents a new beginning, a new season, and a beautiful day where God’s blessings and promises are brought to fulfillment. Irrespective of your circumstances or who you are, one thing is for certain – you will instantly connect with the message of hope and expectation on this CD.”
However, in a rear glimpse of behind the scenes on what was going on in his life while he penned the lyrics and melodies to the songs on the CD, Rev. Ferguson pointed out that he had no idea that God would led him to pen lyrics about the trials he faced. “But trials have a way of refining you, and failure has a way of redirecting your steps in God’s will,” he said.
Now, this is a man who has learned that every Job must be stripped, and every David must face his own Goliath. “But no matter what you go through, you must always stay hooked into what God is doing in your life. Your trial is not about you – it is about God getting the glory and honour from your life – as painful as it may be,” he noted.
His final word: “Don’t let the enemy use your situation to disconnect your faith from God.”
